Suggestions, Please!

Could you please share some reading resources that you use and share with your parents.  I have a few kiddos that would benefit from additional reading support at home.  I have given my suggestions and recommendations, but I am curious what items and resources you share with the parents of your firsties.  Thanks for your help!

  1. Hi Suzanne,
I have some things on my blog that might be helpful. We also wrote a grant this year for RAZ-Kids. Lots of our kids are using that at home. I'll post a few more things that I give to my parents later this week.

  2. If you email me, I have a list of books with author and level that I give my first grade parents each year. I will give you a copy.

  4. I, too, use RAZ kids with my class for home use. I also use the coordinating site, www.readinga-z.com and print off books/sheets/comprehension quizzes that the parents can read and do at home with their kiddos. :) It's nice b/c they can keep their books and color them to make them their own!

  5. I am a fourth grade teacher and I use Tumblebooks.com with my students and with my own children, kinder and second grade. It is an online site that lets students read along with the audio reader. The books are leveled and there are many titles to select from, including chapter books. There is a membership fee, but if you go through the public library site, it's free!
